John Alfred Fassett passed away at his home in Modesto, Calif., of a heart attack on July 23. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., to John Alfred Fassett (of Needham, Mass.) and the late Priscilla Nicholson Moore, formerly of Moorestown, NJ. He lived in Mt. Lebanon, Pa., and Cape Cod, Mass., prior to moving to California. John was largely self-taught and specialized in high tech communication and microwave transmission projects, some involving international travel (Kuwait). Some of the companies he contracted with were Pedcom, Inc., and Somera, Inc. He worked at the local AA for 4 years, helping with projects there and winning several awards. He was also an expert in electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry and building renovation. He selflessly taught those skills to anyone who was interested and managed several local renovation projects. He was an unofficial dog trainer and loved animals. His other hobbies included cooking, walking, and fixing his truck. John is survived by his daughter, Jocelyn Fassett, of Somerville, Mass.; his fraternal twin brother Granville Benjamin of Salt Lake City, Utah ( Wife: Carol; Children: Brad, David, and Cameron); two younger brothers: Daniel Clark of Langhorne, Pa. (Wife: Sandy; Children: Tara, Jason, and Kevin), and Chris Fassett of Dedham, Mass.; two older sisters: Patricia Moran Tovell of Columbia, SC (Husband: Bill; Children: Michelle and Bill), and Lillian Fassett Schildt of Pipersville, Pa. (Husband: Jim; Children: Steve and Tim); and younger sister, Alice Fassett Parker of Mountain View, CA (daughter: Chelsea). |
