Halloween costume.
Per Dodie Larson (with whom John lived for the past 6 years along with her husband Dennis): "Modesto Junior College staff had a costume competition. I sewed an "Ahab the Arab" costume for Dennis. John worked for two days to create a jeweled sword out of wood that looked very authentic. We sent Dennis off to school like two proud parents." |

 John loved taking Den-Den for his nightly walk. Sometimes the walks would last about 2 hours, mainly because John would stop and visit neighbors. |
