Spring 2001

Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia. Yes, they have air conditioning! The EA-6B Prowlers are in Saudi to help patrol the Iraq no-fly zone as part of Operation Southern Watch.

Jason and fellow flier Pee Wee in front of the Prowler Operations Hut on the base in Saudi Arabia. The tail-end of a dust storm. Jason says you can hardly breathe when you get stuck in one. The wind blows about 40 knots and feels like a thousand hair dryers of hot air on your face.

The Air Crew (pilots and navigators) of Squadron 142. (Jason is not pictured because he was sick that day.)

Jason is now a division officer, which means he's the manager of his own division, seen here.

The MWR committee organizes all the fun activities, such as picnics, trips, etc. Jason is also the MWR officer.

Jason organized this sumo match during an MWR picnic. Here, the XO (blue) battles the CO (red) over who's really the head-honcho of the squadron.
