With a great deal of luck, I landed the first job I interviewed for, and amazingly, I'm working in the same office building as Jason. His company, System Planning Corp., leases office space from my new company, Wyle Laboratories. I'm working in the Communications department for the Aerospace Division of the company. My main duties are producing two company newsletters and doing public and community relations. I started June 23.
Accepting the job was bittersweet, as it means my life as a stay-at-home mom is over. I'm very grateful for the time I got to spend in Anacortes with the kids. I was lucky to find a great daycare center for them to set my mind at ease. Before I was offered the job, I enrolled Jayden in part-time preschool at the Starmaker Learning Center. They are also a full-time daycare center and had spots open for both Jayden and Gianna.

Leo was a year behind behind my dad in high school; In football, he played offensive end and my dad played half-back. |
Pam's Dad, Terry Pezzola, met up with his old high school chum
Leo Rossi at a recent testimonial dinner honoring Father Fidelis, in which Leo hosted. Leo and Terry played
football together at Bishop Egan from 1960-1963 and Father Fidelis was
their coach.
After high school, Leo went on to become a lawyer but has spent the past 30 years working as a Hollywood actor. Some of his more famous movies include The Accused, Black Widow, and Analyze This (see his IMDB bio). Upon seeing my dad for the first time in decades, Leo remarked "Terry Pezzola....the fastest white man I ever saw." Leo also brought along his wife and daughter. My mom struck up a fast friendship with his wife and chatting all about their plans to send their daughter to college in Pa. She also had the chance to ask my burning question: (See Scoop). |
Pam's Celebrity SCOOP: Upon request, Pam's mom asked Leo a burning question that's been on Pam's mind for years: Is actress Debra Winger really difficult to work with as rumor has it? Leo worked with Debra in the 1987 movie Black Widow. After Pam's mom posed the question, he was silent for a moment and then said, "My first impression of her was, 'Who is this diva?'" He explained that when they met for their first scene, the first thing she said to him was that his hair was all wrong for the part. (Keep in mind that his part was so minor that he only had two scenes with her.) Then she went to the director and before he knew it the director asked him to change his hair. Despite that , Leo did say that she was "very professional" and that she not only knew her own lines but knew his lines as well. Leo didn't seem to think she was being too obsessive about the hair thing and knowing his lines, though "Scoop" Fassett thinks he was just being nice. |

After a 10-day blitz of interviews last month, Jason had five job offers to consider. He decided to accept a job as Senior Engineer/Deputy Program Manager for System Planning Corp. (SPC) in Lexington Park, Md. He was really excited and surprised to have so many job choices. He'll start his new job the second week in April. He leaves the Navy March 31.
On March 1, Pam, Jason, the kids, and Charlie will embark on a cross-country trip to Pennsylvania. Everyone but Jason will move in with Pam's parents for a month or so until we can buy a house. Jason will fly back to Anacortes and live in our rented house until the end of March. The movers will come March 31.
For our trip, we've decided to take the Northern route through the States and plan to visit Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Minnesota, etc. We'll take lots of pictures, of course.
